BABY! and a plan!

So.

As they say, better late than never.

Fergus Malcolm was born via unplanned C-Section on August 15, 2010 at 6:06pm. He was 9lbs11oz and 22 inches:

Next Friday, it will be two months since he was born and I'm itching to get back to running with the goal of completing the Mississauga Half Marathon in May 2011.

I aim to run for the first time tomorrow or by next week at the latest. This means a return to blogging as well!

Until then, let me show off a bit more:

Cheers! I look forward to many more positive training updates in the near future!

8 months!

As promised, here I am at 8 months pregnant (last week). It has been hot and humid in the GTA (however right now it is lovely!). The evidence is my hair!

I also am so big/low that I had to purchase larger/longer tops so that my actual belly wasn’t hanging out.

Still feeling good.

Still missing regular physical activity.

1.6k!

It is true!

I walked 1.6k today (in about 22 min).

Now that I'm 31 weeks pregnant, my aim is to get a daily walk in, hopefully at lunchtime. It was a muggy day in downtown Toronto, but it didn't stop me.

Of course, this is nowhere near the 5k, 35min runs I used to do, but it is something I can track again!

The walking is part of my plan to VBAC. Here's hoping it helps! The fringe benefit is that I can blog a little bit again.

Look for an eight month photo next week!

Half-way there... photo

Here is what I look like:

That was taken about 2 weeks ago, about half way through (20 weeks, 2 days - according to ultrasound). I know I look huge, but keep in mind, I'm only 5ft tall. I'm actually doing better this time around!

I miss running. I've read all the Around the Bay posts and this past weekend was the Harry Spring Run Off. The weather has been AMAZING (+20!) and I've seen tonnes of runners out and about. Don't get me wrong, the baby is 100% worth it, I just miss the thrill of meeting a goal. I feel like keeping up with races and runners that I "know" via their blogs will only help to motivate me to return (hopefully in September sometime).

Congratulations to everyone out there running and racing. You are inspiring!

27 weeks… give or take

I’ve figured out that that is how long it’ll be until I can begin running again/ training for my first half marathon.

Sigh.

I can’t run right now. I can only walk fast.

Thus the lack of updates to my blog (which is a running blog, not a pregnancy blog).

This pity post brought to you by the fact that I spent a lot of time reading various race and training reports this weekend.

Not Since Dec 15

I haven't run since December 15th (when I vomited while on the treadmill - but still finished the run!).

I have been alternately tired, sick, or generally BLAH.

I do know what is wrong with me though:

I'm about 15 weeks along and starting to come out of the fog!

Plans! Well, plans include trying to get out for jogs or fast walks in the next few weeks. I have been going to Curves about once a week, but that's a quite recent addition (I've caught every single sickness I could have and lost 5lbs between months two and three!).

The goal is NOT to end up at 193+ lbs (I never got weighted after 38 weeks last time) this time and to successfully have a VBAC, so exercise will be important.

Sigh, I miss running. I hope to get back to something like it and soon.

Oh yeah, I'll be half marathoning in May 2011! Whee! Its awesome to put that on paper!
