Then three weeks from now.
This past week, I caught a slight bug which caused me an upset stomach for three days. This means I missed our last hill training night (9 hills) and an easy run on Thursday. While I felt pretty darn guilty about missing these runs, I'm glad I focused on my health especially when Bing's email came yesterday and told us that we have done enough work to be able to cross the finish line in three weeks!
Today, I tempted fate and other things and took advantage of the beautiful late morning to run 9.2k. It went very well and I felt really good! I didn't look at my garmin much and ran by feel and clocked the run in at one hour even.
Tomorrow is our long run. We are running 19k and doing the last 15k of the half marathon route. The last 11k is an option to run it at race pace.
I'll be taking the option baring an upset tummy.
21 days!!!!
I'm starting to formulate plans and goals and will share them soon!

Right
Right.
Got the all clear from the doc on Wednesday to get back to running. I had pulled a muscle in my upper back sometime over the holiday’s so I had stopped running while it healed (perhaps lifting my 35lb three year old is not the best thing for my 5ft self anymore). The plan was to get running on Saturday on the treadmill while the kid napped (yes, my three year old still takes glorious two-three hour naps daily). Alas, I woke up on Saturday with a self-diagnosed case of gastroenteritis.
Ugg.
I had the whole kit and caboodle, let me tell you. Suffice to say, running didn’t happen.
AGAIN.
F&*K.
I’m really rather pissed.
Now, my husband is telling me that the treadmill is STILL acting up (chugging). I have to wonder if our 100-125lb weight difference will make a difference to the performance of the treadmill, but only time will tell.
The new plan involves getting back to Curves this week and onto the treadmill at least once for a 30 min or 5k session – depending on how I feel/how the treadmill is. Then if the weather stays warmish at the weekend, I’ll get out for a jog.
BAH. I’m so discouraged. Most people start a New Year full throttle and I can’t even get out of the gate.

I've been sick all week
Not with the H1N1, but I've felt like crap all the same.
Ran with Sarah on Saturday afternoon (Oct 31st) and could barely do 7k (yes there were 60-80k winds and a warning from Enviornment Canada).
The plan is to keep mending over the weekend and attempt to restart Sunday or Monday.

In case you’ve been wondering…
Yep, I haven’t run since Jun 16th. I had a small medical thing, so common that it is not worth going into here; suffice to say that it kept me from running. Now that I’m over all of that, I can rejoin the world of running once again.
And so, I did.
I did about 5.5km outside yesterday through my neighborhood in a big loop and quite enjoyed myself despite the heat. It is hard to judge distance without a Garmin and MapMyRun doesn’t have all of the new streets in place yet. As I said to the hubs upon my return, there were + and – to the run:
+ I ran
- I walked a whole heck of a lot of it
+ I remembered my hat
- I forgot my sun screen (not too bad – no burns, just more colour on my arms that I should have)
+ I ran with my water belt thing
- It still bumps around
+ I discovered if the water is only ¾ full and at my hip, it doesn’t bump so much
+ New route
- I had to run through construction and almost killed myself on some stones
+ my last song of the run came up as Neil Diamond!
- The run/walk took me 50 mins!
+ I got back out there!
The plan for the week includes the following:
M: Baseball
T: Curves, Baseball
W: Curves, Run (likely 5km treadmill as Hubs is out)
TH: Curves
F: Run (short – 5km?)
Sa: Long run (as in 7km?)
I’m debating signing up for another race as well to keep me focused.
