Week of May 11

Well, after all of the running love I experienced last week, I did NOTHING about it this week! Whoops. In fact, my entire week was complete CRAP in terms of exercise, but with good excuse (I should hope).

Monday: Work, no time during work for Curves, after work in the evening I spent time with my family because
Tues-Wed: Conference in Niagara-on-the-Lake. This was a great conference and we got to stay at the Queen’s Landing hotel and enjoy a tasting and dinner at Inniskillin. I was VERY good and did NOT get drunk. I managed to make it back to my room in time for the Biggest Loser winner reveal (I do wish Tara had won, but I guess they all win in the end).
Thursday: A day to remember for sure! I went to Toronto Blue Jay Fantasy camp courtesy of the Toronto Star. I did get loads of exercise in this day (must have circled the Dome three times, plus ran from the home bench to RF seven times). This day was AMAZING! We got an entire uniform, a bag, a day with coaching staff, and we got to play a game on the field! I went 1-2 on a fielder’s choice and stole second (the only steal attempt all day!). Our team won 10-7, then Adam Lind, Brett Cecil and Kevin Millar came out to present MVP’s to each team (dude who hit a grand slam from our team won) and sign a baseball for each of us. After that, I hung out and watched Halladay work out his arm (he didn’t pitch that night) and marveled at his pure athleticism. We showered up and went for drinks at the Hard Rock prior to dinner at Sightlines followed by the game (Yankees) in a private box. Again, I did NOT get drunk (I was driving), but I had such a great time, despite the 3-2 loss.
Friday: No way in hell was I able to do anything with my super sore legs and torso from the day before.
Saturday: My in-laws came, so I wasn’t about to be rude and take off on them for 45 minutes.

And so that was the week that was. I’m back on track this week and have a three run plus three curves visit strategy planned. Let’s hope this time, I stick to it!

Jan 10/11 2009

Meh and Blah.

Jan 10:

B: 1/2 toast with cashew butter (kid stole the other half), coffee
L: Mixed green salad with balsamic, salami and cheese sandwich
D: Roast beef dip sandwich and mixed green salad with balsamic, sprite
S: Movie popcorn, iced tea

Ex: 30 mins treadmill, ran for 25 straight, 3.5km completed. Woot!

H2O: 1L

Saw DOUBT. Great film!

Jan 11:

B: Yogurt, 1/2 glass cranberry 1/2 glass water
B#2 (post church): 2x flax toast, 1 egg, 2.5 beef sausages, 1.5 hashbrowns, coffee x2
S: Banana bread (homemade), coffee
D: Chicken breast, carrots, corn, mashed potatoes, corn, Jello made with milk, cookie, Wine (I dunno x4?)

S: tostitos plus the wine above

H2O: likely 1L

Fuck off, its Sunday and the Golden Globes (note to self, shouldn't blog after 4 glasses of wine... note to self, doesn't matter no one reads this blog).

Jan 9/09

Like always I started the week off strong and ended on a low note. I guess I'm really only good for 4-5 days of pure motivation and will power because I ALWAYS seem to get screwed up by the end of the work week. I actually find it quite a bit easier to get on the treadmill in the middle of the afternoon while my kid naps on the weekend and once I've worked out, I usually am pretty good at keeping on track food wise. AH. I guess this is an issue (willpower) that I need to tackle.

B: Yogurt
S: Granola bar, coffee
L: Lasagna (homemade)
S: Licorice
D: Mixed greens and tuna casserole, cup of tea (at my parents - no cookies or jello or ice cream had though!)
S: Chips, 3x red wine (from the box! I'm slowly finishing it... it doesn't go sour at all... crazy, eh? Its been open since Dec 6/08).

Ex: Nada. I should have went to Curves on lunch but work was busy and I had to leave early for the kid's 2yr appointment so I just worked through.

H2O: 2L

Dec 18/08

After a stellar day I had Ice Cream. Sue me, I don’t care. I was stuck on the friggen GoTrain for an hour. I got home at 7:15pm (I usually get home at 6:05pm). I didn’t drink wine and I really, REALLY wanted to.

B: Banana, Clementine
Ex: Curves, 30 min
S: Oatmeal muffin – homemade, coffee
L: Sweet potato and black bean burrito
S: Handful of almonds, Clementine
D: Tilapia, rice, broccoli
S: Ice cream

H20: 2L

The ice cream was Santa’s milk and cookies. A bit too maple-ly for me, but it was good. Not as good as boxed red wine, but at least I can stop when the bowl of ice cream is done. I would have drank about 4 glasses of the wine. I think the lesser of two evils won.

Weekend of indulgences

Sat Dec 13
B: Granola bar, coffee
L: Minestrone Soup
S: Small dinner roll with brie
EX: 30 mins on treadmill – walk on incline for 5 min, run for 20 min, cool down for 5 min
D: Pork chop, sweet potatoes, corn
S: Salt and Vinegar chips
H2O: Over 2L

Sun Dec 14
B: Soft boiled egg and 2x whole wheat toast with butter
L: Minestrone Soup
S: Mouthful of black beans and one of sweet potato (from dinner I was cooking), tasting of soup, Clementine, hot chocolate with shot of Bailey’s
D: Sheppard’s Pie, glass of milk
S: Salt and Vinegar chips, 4 glasses of wine (fail! – watched the finale of Survivor)
H2O: Over 2L

Let’s look at the positives:
1) Drank 2L water both days
2) Used treadmill
3) Did not drink beer
4) Made three healthy dinners for the week

Let’s just forget about all that chip eating and wine drinking, eh?

Dec 11/12 2008

Without much ado:

Dec 11
B: Oatmeal with flax seed and brown sugar
Ex: Curves
S: Banana, coffee, handful of almonds, yogurt
L: (Work holiday lunch) - 1 slice white meat turkey, stuffing, 1/2 plate of veggies/salad, desert plate of mixed fruit
D: Hotdog and Salad, a glass of white wine (I know, I cheated)
H2O: Over 2L

Dec 12
B: 1/2 grapefruit, oatmeal with flax seed and brown sugar
L: Salad, penne a la vodka with smoked chicken, 2 glasses of red wine (Supplier lunch), tea
S: Cheese and triscuits
D: 1/4 chicken white meat with fries from Swiss Chalet, 3 glasses of white wine
H2O: 2L - I got it in! HA!

I dunno, I guess I only get mad at myself for about 4 days at a time. I'm trying but it ain't working so well I guess. BAH. BAH. BAH.

I'm going to run now.
